*Riley and Emmie have now been rehomed – scroll down for some happy pics – and soon Shelby, their new owner, will tell us more about how they are settling in *
The Charity is looking for a special home for Riley and Emmie – a bonded pair of loving, well behaved Vizslas whose owner has sadly passed away and to whom these dogs are a credit. The family love this pair dearly but cannot any longer provide the time and attention that is needed. The Charity would prefer Riley and Emmie to stay together if possible and we are looking ideally for a home that has vizsla – or perhaps other HPR – experience. These dogs have no issues and are good with children and cats but as they have never been left for long periods of time we will be prioritising somebody who is around for most of the day. All enquiries to Helga please – and first complete the adoption application form – mentioning your particular interest in these two vizslas
Riley is a 3.5yo male, neutered and chipped. When he was a pup Riley fractured his rear leg but this healed well and there is no lasting impairment. His only minor health issue is a slight “hay fever” type allergy which can be been readily treated with Piriton. Riley is a typical vizsla – friendly, well socialised outgoing and affectionate. He sits on command, gives a paw and a high 5. Sometimes his zest for life gets the better of him and whilst usually reliable on recall he can be readily distracted by new dogs and people to whom he feels it his duty to say hello.
Riley has lived happily with cats and is very good with children – an altogether happy and well adjusted boy with no issues or problems
Emmie is a 3 yo female – microchipped and spayed. Her tail has been docked for medical reasons but otherwise she is a fit and healthy girl. Like many vizslas Emmie is full of life, very affectionate and always seeking love and cuddles. She will sit on command and on walks her recall is good. Though very friendly in nature Emmie can be a little cautious with strangers and other dogs – but it doesn’t take her long to make friends.
Emmie has lived happily with cats and is very good with children – an altogether happy and uncomplicated girl with no issues or problems
