Pippa and Megan came in to welfare at 12 and 11 years old after their care had been fractured by changing family circumstances following the death of their original owner. Their latter experiences had been especially bleak – with little attention being paid to the poor girls’ needs. Pippa was basically OK but overweight due to lack of exercise and bad food. Poor Megan was thin and traumatised.
As the first step towards rehoming the girls went in to the care of a fosterer – so that their needs could be assessed – and a more permanent solution put in place. However as has happened in the past – the amazing foster mum decided she could not bear to let them go and agreed to give them the forever home they so deserved. Both girls are now thriving. Pippa newly slim due to good food and exercise and Megan taking a long time to trust and smile again, but beginning to make huge strides and starting to come up for cuddles.
There are several ways you can support the charity, and not just by adopting or fostering a Vizsla.
